Head, Department of Accounting and Finance

Background

The Accounting and Finance Department was founded shortly after Salale University was inaugurated in 2015. It began by offering an undergraduate degree program. As part of efforts to expand its postgraduate offerings, the department introduced two master's programs: an MSc in Accounting and Finance and an MSc in Finance and Investment. The department currently comprises 14 academic staff members with expertise in various fields. Of these, 10 are actively serving, while the remaining is on study leave.

• The department strives to be a preferred department in the country by 2022.

Mission

• The mission of department is to produce competent and innovative graduates in diversified fields of study; conduct problem solving researches, transfer of technologies; and provide demand-driven community services.

Objectives

• To produce graduates in its regular degree program to satisfy a portion of the demand for accounting and finance graduates.
• To enhance the relevance and timeliness of instruction, as well as the technical competency of the staff, by conducting applied research and developing innovative educational materials and techniques.
• To provide students with sufficient academic, technical, logical, analytical, and professional base from which to pursue a career in accounting and finance and to advance to further study and a potential academic career in accounting and finance
• To be a major provider of consultancy services to the public
• To establish linkage programs with different stakeholders from which the program will be able to tap resources and share experiences
