Director's Message

It is with great pleasure that I extend my heartfelt greetings to all students, faculty members, administrative staff, and valued stakeholders of the Academic vice Corporate Director, Salale University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. Our college remains unwavering in its commitment to academic excellence, impactful research, and meaningful engagement with the community. The Academic vice Corporate Director role was established to address the growing need for collaboration between health sciences education and healthcare service delivery. The office serves as a strategic hub for advancing academic research, enhancing clinical practice, and fostering partnerships to improve patient outcomes. Its mission is to bridge the gap between academia and hospital operations, ensuring synergy between these two realms to meet the needs of students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and the broader community. The Academic vice Corporate Director envisions positioning the university among the top ten premier hospital teaching institutions in Africa, providing leadership in aligning academic programs with the highest standards of healthcare practice and research. In higher education, emphasis is placed on hospital-based teaching that addresses national challenges and facilitates the transfer of appropriate technologies for various applications. Currently, the Salale University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital educates 657 undergraduate students, 54 post-basic students specializing in family health, and 80 postgraduate students at Sululta and Fitche sites. The hospital is supported by approximately 239 academic staff. The Salale University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital has also a journal ‘ Horn African Journal of health and Biomedical Sciences’.
