Welcome to the Department of Medical Laboratory Education and Clinical Services at Salale University. As the Director, I am honored to lead a dedicated team committed to fostering excellence in laboratory science education, clinical diagnostics, and research. Medical laboratory professionals play a vital role in modern healthcare, providing essential diagnostic insights that drive patient care and medical decisions. Our department is dedicated to equipping students and healthcare practitioners with the knowledge, technical expertise, and ethical standards needed to advance laboratory medicine. Background

Salale university is one of the HEIs in Ethiopia and founded with the mission to produce competent & innovative graduates in diversified fields of study, conduct problem solving researches, transfer technologies; and provide demand-driven community services. College of Health Sciences is one of the six colleges in the university. The college is currently running 6 undergraduate programs, of which one is department of medical laboratory, Department of medical Laboratory is launched in 2010 EC. Since 2010 EC the department was participating in Teaching, Community service and Research. The department has also shown a successful move in the pass rate of the national licensure exam of its graduates. Currently the department has integrated clinical and academic activities to offer diagnostic services, further strengthening its impact on healthcare delivery and public health.

• Produce Medical Laboratory Technologist equipped with theoretical knowledge, skill and attitude.
• Undertake problem solving researches on local, national and international problems.
• Graduates who can participate in identifying and solving the community problems in various health perspectives.
• Produce competent practitioners who can maintain the professional code of ethics.
• Train competent medical laboratory sciences practitioners to meet the human power needs of various health and health related institutions.
• To provide quality laboratory services (diagnostic) in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
• Implement full scope accreditation in both academic and clinical services nationally and internationally
