Background

Hospital Pharmacy service is one the clinical services provided by our hospital since it inauguration. Currently, the hospital is providing pharmacy services using it’s three dispensary units; namely, Central pharmacy, Inpatient pharmacy and emergency pharmacy. Central pharmacy serves as outpatient, chronic care and other miscellaneous care. Inpatient pharmacy serves all inpatient wards, Operation room and Anesthesia unit while emergency pharmacy is designated for emergency care. Apart from these dispensary units, Compounding pharmacy, community pharmacy, or Pharmacy and Oncology Pharmacy are coming soon.

  • To manage the use of medications and provide pharmaceutical care in our hospital.

Objectives
  • Pharmaceutical selection, procurement, Pharmaceutical service delivery, Pharmacy administration, rational prescription, and review of medications to optimize patient outcomes. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the right patient, dose, route of administration, time, drug, information and documentation are respected when any medication is used.

Roles of Our Hospital Pharmacist
  • Pharmaceutical supply management and ensuring rational utilization.
  • Devising specific medication plans that are individualized for patients.
  • Assisting physicians and other health professionals to make drug-based decisions.
  • Compounding medications for use in the hospital.
  • Helping patients to understand their medications and how to take them.
  • Providing medicines in emergency situations.
  • Assisting in specialized medical care, such as for cancer patients.
