Background of Academic Program Directorate Director

The Academic Program Directorate at Salale University was established in January 2024 as part of the university’s newly revised organizational structure. Prior to this, it was integrated with the Academic Programs Quality Assurance and Enhancement Directorate. The university offers a total of 43 undergraduate and 33 postgraduate programs, which are distributed unevenly across these academic units, serving a relatively modest student population.

  • To developing relevant, high-quality academic programs that meet the needs of the 21st century. It aims to produce skilled, ethical, and innovative graduates, while promoting research, technology transfer, and community engagement to support national development.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Academic Program Directorate Office
  • Strategic Planning & Compliance: Develop strategic plans, ensure compliance with national guidelines, and advise the Senate on curriculum matters.
  • Program & Curriculum Development: Oversee the design, approval, and enhancement of academic programs and lead accreditation processes.
  • Academic Staff & Student Support: Organize training for academic staff, monitor staff-to-student ratios, and oversee student records.
  • Resource Management & External Relations Prepare budgets, manage internship placements, and collaborate with industry partners.
  • General Oversight & Performance Monitoring: Monitor program performance using key indicators and collaborate with Deans and the Registrar on academic matters.
