Sustainable quality education will not be achieved within an overnight, or in a one year project effort; rather, it requires continuous inspection and improvement of the existing practice. Besides, to maintain sustainable quality education, it requires quality education and quality assurance paradigm shift. This paradigm shift is evident in the current commitment and growing anxious concern of the FDRE for quality enhancement, and so does Salale University. Below are the key points that define the core responsibilities and objectives of a Quality Assurance and Enhancement Directorate of our university:
Since 2010 E.C, Salale University has been operating its Quality assurance system and Academic Programs with one unit, Academic Program and Quality Assurance Directorate. However, from the second quarter of 2016 E.C academic calendar, structural and functional split of Academic Program, and Quality Assurance and Enhancement Directorate was made into two independent directorates. In this case, the former focusing on implementation of academic activities and the latter on monitoring, auditing, and enhancing the quality of programs and services of the university as an internal monitoring organ on one hand and as a responding to external accrediting and monitoring institute, such as ETA on the other. The Quality Assurance and Enhancement Directorate (QAED) plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of education within academic institutions. It ensures that the educational offerings meet required standards and align with both institutional goals and external regulatory requirements.
