Brief Message of the Executive for Public and International Relations

As an Executive for Public and International Relations, I am proud to represent our institution, a place where academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement thrive. Our commitment to providing a world-class education is complemented by our strong international collaborations, fostering an environment where students, faculty, and staff can exchange ideas, learn from diverse cultures, and contribute to the global community.We invite Local and International Universities, Research Institutes, and Organizations to join us in collaborative efforts aimed at advancing quality education, groundbreaking research, and meaningful community service. The Directorate of Public and External Relations at Salale University has undergone significant changes since its inception in 2010. Initially established as the Public and External Relations Directorate, it was restructured in 2016 into two separate entities, with one focusing on Public Affairs and the other on External Affairs. The Public Affairs segment of the directorate is now known as the Executive for Public and International Affairs, led by executive, and is tasked with overseeing the university’s corporate image, communications, events, and stakeholder relations locally and internationally.

    The Executive for Public and International Affairs plays a crucial role in managing the university’s corporate image and its relationship with key publics, including government agencies, the media, and the broader community. It ensures the institution is represented positively both locally and internationally. Currently, the office has nine (9) staff members in various labor division.Some of the key responsibilities include:

    • Corporate Image Management: Promoting and maintaining the university’s reputation by managing information flow within the university and interacting with various publics.
    • Media and Press Relations: The directorate manages media communications, writes and distributes press releases, and monitors media content related to the university.
    • Event Management: It organizes key events such as press conferences, graduation ceremonies, international conferences, open days, and other official university functions.
    • Social Media & Online Presence: The directorate is responsible for maintaining and updating the university’s website and social media platforms to ensure effective communication and engagement with stakeholders.
    • Protocol Services: It ensures the smooth running of official university functions, including guest accommodations, planning for ceremonies, and maintaining university culture and symbols.
    • Research and Perception Studies: Conducting studies to gauge the public’s perception of the university and using this data to shape communication strategies.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as government agencies, donors, and other institutions.
