Brief Message of the Academic, Research, and Community Service

Welcome to Salale University! It is my honor to serve as the Vice President for Academic, Research, and Community Service. In this role, I am entrusted with leading and coordinating the university’s teaching and learning processes, research activities, and community engagement initiatives. Working alongside deans, directors, faculty, and students, my goal is to ensure academic excellence, promote innovation, and strengthen our impact on society. Salale University, established in 2015 as one of Ethiopia’s fourth-generation autonomous public higher education institutions, is committed to providing quality education, advancing research, and delivering meaningful community service. With six colleges—Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Agricultural and Natural Resources, Social Sciences and Humanities, Business and Economics, Health Sciences—and a School of Law, we strive to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to the development of our nation. Guided by our motto, “Co-Creating Quality,” we place strong emphasis on research that addresses real-world challenges and on transferring technology and knowledge to benefit the surrounding community. Our vision is to make Salale University a center of academic excellence and a driver of socio-economic transformation at the local, national, and international levels. I warmly invite students, staff, partners, and stakeholders to join us in this journey of knowledge, discovery, and service. Together, we can co-create quality and build a brighter future. Dr. Tsegaye Deyou Vice President for Academic, Research, and Community Service Salale University
