Welcome to Salale University’s (SlU) Official Website,It is my great honor to serve as the President of Salale University, and I am deeply inspired to work alongside the dedicated and enthusiastic staff of our institution. I firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to drive national progress and improve lives in all dimensions. It serves as the foundation for all forms of advancement, achievable only when access and equity are ensured.
With this vision, and guided by our motto, "Co-Creating Quality," Salale University was established in 2015 in Fiche town, North Showa Zone, Oromia Region, located 112 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Since its inception, SlU has been steadfastly committed to its three core missions: education, research, and community service. The University began its academic journey with nine undergraduate programs. Today, it offers more than thirty undergraduate programs, and we have finalized preparations to launch postgraduate programs in various fields by 2020. Our region, North Showa, widely known as "Salale" for historical reasons, is uniquely positioned, bordered by two major tributaries of the Nile River—Mogor and Jama—as well as the Nile itself. This area has attracted significant attention from researchers and academics due to its potential mineral resources.

Salale University Hosts Research and Community Service Public Defense Workshop.
Salale University hosted a Research and Community Service Public Defense Workshop aimed at strengthening research quality and community-focused problem solving.
In his opening address, Dr. Tsegaye Deyou, Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs, stated that numerous research activities are being conducted at the University. He emphasized the importance of properly addressing required standards during the research process. He noted that research is one of the core missions of Salale University and stressed that it should be conducted with clear focus by identifying priority areas and setting measurable indicators that address societal problems.
Dr. Tsegaye encouraged participants to actively and diligently engage in the program until its conclusion, highlighting that the platform provides an opportunity for mutual learning and the enhancement of research knowledge and skills. He also expressed his appreciation to the reviewers for their valuable contributions in evaluating the presented research works.
The workshop was attended by relevant stakeholders from the North Shoa Zone and Fiche City Administration, particularly those engaged in the community service sector. It was reported that 21 research papers were presented during the program, 13 of which focused on community service research.
Some participants noted that the program complemented their previous research experience and created opportunities for shared learning and professional development.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Tadesse Berhanu, Director of the Community Service, Technology Transfer, and Industry Linkage Directorate, emphasized that researchers should address existing gaps by continuously developing their research knowledge and skills and by conducting studies that provide practical solutions to community challenges.
