Welcome to Salale University’s (SlU) Official Website,It is my great honor to serve as the President of Salale University, and I am deeply inspired to work alongside the dedicated and enthusiastic staff of our institution. I firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to drive national progress and improve lives in all dimensions. It serves as the foundation for all forms of advancement, achievable only when access and equity are ensured.
With this vision, and guided by our motto, "Co-Creating Quality," Salale University was established in 2015 in Fiche town, North Showa Zone, Oromia Region, located 112 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Since its inception, SlU has been steadfastly committed to its three core missions: education, research, and community service. The University began its academic journey with nine undergraduate programs. Today, it offers more than thirty undergraduate programs, and we have finalized preparations to launch postgraduate programs in various fields by 2020. Our region, North Showa, widely known as "Salale" for historical reasons, is uniquely positioned, bordered by two major tributaries of the Nile River—Mogor and Jama—as well as the Nile itself. This area has attracted significant attention from researchers and academics due to its potential mineral resources.

Salale University Launches Environmental Protection Club
Salale University has officially launched the Environmental Protection Club, marking the beginning of organized environmental conservation activities on campus. The program was attended by Dr. Feyera Dinsa, President of Salale University,the Director of the Academic Program Directorate,the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources,student representatives and members of various student clubs.
The Environmental Protection Club, founded by student Sadam Usman and his colleagues, has begun its activities to protect biodiversity and promote a greener, more sustainable campus. Its creation is seen as timely and essential due to the importance of plant life and green spaces for all living beings.
In his remarks Dr.Feyera Dinsa President of Salale University stated that launching an Environmental Protection Club is vital for promoting environmental awareness, encouraging sustainable practices, preserving green spaces, and engaging students in practical conservation activities. It fosters collaboration, shared responsibility, a healthier campus environment, and helps develop students’ leadership and community engagement skills, while Students’ Union President Abdi Reta highlighted the importance of collective action and pledged to help turn the club’s goals into practical campus initiatives.
Dr. Solomon Balemi, Director of the Academic Program Directorate, emphasized that environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility. The Environmental Protection Club aims to promote campus greenery, sustainability, and pollution control in order to create a healthier environment for current and future generations.
